Penguins captain has taken the next step in his recovery from a concussion suffered nine months ago during the 2011 Winter Classic. This is a huge step in getting back on the ice for the Penguins.
Sid hasn't suffered any setbacks since participating in practices with the Pens since training camp started.
Full contact and possibly even getting into the lineup in the near future had to be on the radar of Pens' management as Sid was placed on the injured reserve list and not the long term injured reserve list.
